Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and/or Medication Technicians of our Christopher Center are responsible for overseeing the care of our senior residents with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. These hands-on caregivers work directly to assist residents with daily care needs and are specially trained in our Reflections Memory Care Program. They are responsible for supervising nursing assistants and maintaining a high standard of care, accurate record-keeping, and licensing requirements as directed by the Director of Nursing (DON). Excellent communication skills and knowledge of state regulations and medication administration are a must. LPN/Med Techs must be dedicated, compassionate, and respectful.
This position is Part time Benefited 3 days a week, every other weekend.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and accurately record the administration of medications as prescribed
- Record and report adverse reactions, medication side effects, or changes in residents’ condition to supervising nurse
- Provide direct care to residents and other duties of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and/or Med Tech as designated
- Participate in resident life enrichment programs
- Interact effectively with residents and family members to address concerns
- Participate in staff training, including Reflections Memory Care Program training
- Other tasks as requested by supervisor
Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse license or Registered Medication Aide license
- CPR and First Aid certification or ability to acquire within 60 days
- Experience in senior care is preferred
